Hi, I'm Rachel.
Hi, I'm Rachel.
I’m the host and creator of Sacred Thorns, a Christian podcast and ministry for those learning to live faithfully with unanswered prayers, ongoing suffering, and the parts of life that do not resolve neatly.
Sacred Thorns grew out of my own journey through infertility and the questions it forced me to ask about suffering, prayer, faith, and the character of God. I didn’t start this ministry because I found a tidy answer. I started it because I needed a place where people could be honest about the questions that remain.
My work draws from Scripture, theology, Christian history, and the wisdom of traditions across the Church. I’m especially interested in what happens in the holy messy middle — the space between the prayer and the answer, between hope and grief, between what we believe and what we are actually living.
I’m currently pursuing graduate studies in theology, and outside of Sacred Thorns, I work as an academic librarian and serve in Christian ministry. Most importantly, I’m still walking this road myself. I’m not speaking from the other side of a miraculous resolution. I’m learning, alongside you, what it means to find God while the thorn remains.
A few things about me
Tea over coffee.
Books are everywhere.
I love theology, church history, and asking uncomfortable questions.
I share life with my husband and our very spoiled animals.
I’m honored to abide with you here in the middle.
